Pizza Meatballs

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Dash onion powder
  • Dash garlic powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 pkg. string cheese (mozzarella)
  • 1/4 c vegetable or olive oil
  • "2 16 oz. cans tomatoes, pureed"
  • 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 t oregano
  • 1/2 t basil
  • Dash onion powder
  • Dash garlic powder

"Combione gr beef, bread crumbs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Shape into meatballs. Cut mozzarella sticks into small cubes. Push one in center of each meatball. Brown in olive oil. Remove meatballs. Add tomato paste to olive oil. Stir in pureed tomatoes. Add seasonings. Bring to boil. Add meatballs and simmer 1-2 hours (at least 30 minutes, but the longer you simmer, the better the flavor.) Serve over pasta or as an appetizer."
