To whom it may concern:

I met Carole Bellacera three years ago when she became my instructor at the Long Ridge Writers group, and within a short 9 months, she took me from being a want-a-be dreamer to a bonafide writer. Carole is incisive, brilliant, extremely creative, and intuitive.

She is a mentor that will bring out the most you have inside with her no-nonsense method of editing. She instills the very best in all she touches. Carole will be a huge asset to anyone looking for a down-to-earth professional, not afraid of hard work or challenges. My life would not be the same without Carole.

My name is Renee; I have been working under Carole Bellacera’s tutelage for around three years now. She has taught me more than any general school teacher I’ve had. She is patient, understanding, and kind. I’m never offended with her constructive critique because she focuses more on your achievements than your mistakes. I would recommend Mrs. Bellacera to anyone who wants to learn how to write. She is wonderful and I am proud to call her a friend as well as my mentor!

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am both honoured and pleased to offer a referring letter for Carole Bellacera for editing services.

I met Carole seven years ago when she was paired with me as my tutor for a writing course through Long Ridge Writers’ Group. I consider this to be one of the most fortunate turns of events in my writing career, as I truly needed a tutor and editor like Carole at that time. Carole is a thorough editor but she also offers one very important thing that not many other editors take the time to do: She gives positive feedback. That’s an element that is crucial to writers because although we go through and correct grammatical or punctuation errors made, Carole goes the step further to explain why such errors need to be changed as well as how to make the project even better.

A couple of years later, Carole and I were paired up again in the novel course offered through Long Ridge Writers’ Group. In addition to basic editing, Carole also helped with content, character depth, dialogue, setting and other required elements that create a excellent novel. Thanks to her, I was able to learn invaluable insight that inspired me finish, edit and sell my first novel.

Carole’s years of experience in article writing, as well as her fantastically written novels, make her more than qualified for handling editing and/or proofing positions in any genre and at any level of difficulty. Her eye for detail, ability to detect true talent in writers, as well as helping writers build confidence in their work, is inspiring and contagious. I strongly feel that Carole would be a tremendous benefit to any publishing house or editing service. Her pearls of wisdom have helped me become the editor, writer and author I am today and for that, I will always be grateful.

***Note from Carole: Chynna has published six novels since we worked together.

I have worked with Carole Bellacera since 2007, first as my instructor, then as my editor. She is very knowledgeable about making prose flow smoothly and has gotten me to think about how to make things sound better. Because of her skills, everything about my writing has improved, from grammar to pov.

Carole is quick when returning work and her comments are always concise and relevant. She points out areas that seem rough but always has a solution or two for you to think about. It helps you to think in new ways.

I can't think of a better person for editing a writer's work. I'm thankful for the day we were introduced. She's a great person and an excellent writer.

I've always loved to write.

After I retired, I decided I wanted to devote the rest of my life to writing, and my ultimate dream was to publish a novel. For several years, I spent hours of my life behind a computer WRITING! I successfully published a few things, a short story, a magazine article, but nothing major. I tried writing a novel but wasn't successful.

After I began working with Carole Bellacera, however, things changed. No wonder I wasn't being published! I didn't know what I was doing. As a successful writer, Carole let me in on so many trade secrets, words and phrases to avoid, ways to keep the reader glued to the page. She's also a great editor and teacher, and over the past months, she's become a friend.

My novel's not finished yet, and I haven't started looking for an agent or a publisher. Will it be the “Great American Novel?” I don't know. But I am sure of one thing. Working with Carole, I have a much better chance to achieving my dream.

I came to know Carole Bellacera when I signed up for a correspondence course entitled “Shape, Write, and Sell Your Novel” offered by the Long Ridge Writers Group. Carole was my Instructor and I was very fortunate she was given the task of guiding me through the various assignments which included writing the first three chapters of a novel and sample query and cover letters to a publishing firm.

Her comments and critiques were invaluable as was her attention to detail, her knowledge of the rules of grammar and punctuation, and the promptness with which she returned each assignment. A gifted writer herself, she offered her expertise unstintingly to help improve my own writing skills.

I can’t thank her enough for her

patience and strong sense of commitment. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a highly professional, competent, and accomplished copy editor.
